First established in 1991 Modus Visual Communications were one of the very first companies to introduce digital signage (Called VIDIEX at the time) on a large format screen in the exhibition environment. Working from exhibitor lists and existing clients, advertising slots were sold and commercials specifically produced by Modus; which were aired in between entertaining content generally in a catering area to a largely captive audience. The picture shows the screen at the 1991 Motorcycle Show held at the NEC where it played to a packed crowd.

Since that first Exhibition in 1991, we have established ourselves as one of the largest audio visual equipment suppliers to the motorcycle exhibition industry, now servicing the organisers and many of the exhibitors at Motorcycle Live at the NEC, The MCN London Motorcycle Show, and The International Dirt Bike Show, plus other smaller regional shows. In addition to Exhibitions, Modus have been involved with the conference aspect of the industry, with Dealer Days, product launches and permanent installations in dealer showrooms covering most applications where a/v equipment is used.
We also specialise in discounted large screen displays, including LED, both for indoor and outdoor events for event organisers and end users, MODUS cover the whole of the U.K.
Although most of our clients need equipment delivered and installed together with technical support for their event we do have a ‘dry hire’ department which offers an equipment rental only service, either collected from our warehouse or delivered to the client’s premises.
In recent years, following further investment in conference equipment, our client base has grown significantly to include exhibition and conference organisers from a much wider field; including The NHS, The Marine Industry, The Aviation Industry, Association and Society Conferences, Insurance and Finance Sector, Education, Borough and District Councils, Motor Retailers and Charity based organisations.
Our rental fleet now includes everything from a simple flipchart, projectors, Full HD and UHD LED TV’s, (with floor stands if required), PA systems with radio microphones and speakers and of course indoor and outdoor LED screens, to a full blown design and build project incorporating all of the above and more with full project management and on-site services for the duration of your event.
